3 Easy Recipes That Include Fenugreek Seeds:

1. Spiced Chickpea Salad with Fenugreek Seeds

Ingredients:

1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1/4 cup chopped red onion

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro 

 2 tablespoons lemon juice

 1 tablespoon olive oil

 1 teaspoon ground cumin   

 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander 

 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek seeds

 Salt and pepper to taste

 

 Instructions:

  In a large bowl, combine all    

  ingredients

  Toss to coat and season with salt 

  and  pepper.

  Serve chilled or at room 

  temperature.


2. Fenugreek and Garlic Naan

     Ingredients:

      1 cup warm water

      1 teaspoon active dry yeast

      1 teaspoon sugar

      1 teaspoon salt

      3 cups all-purpose flour, plus 

      more for dusting

      1 tablespoon olive oil

      1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds

      2 cloves garlic, minced

    Instructions:

    In a large bowl, combine warm 

    water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand 

    for 5 minutes, until foamy.

Add salt, flour, olive oil, fenugreek seeds, and garlic to the yeast mixture.

Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).

Punch down the dough and divide it into 6  equal portions.

Roll each portion into a thin oval shape.

Place the naan on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown.


3. Fenugreek and Spinach Soup

     Ingredients:

     1 tablespoon olive oil

     1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds

     1 onion, chopped

     2 cloves garlic, minced

     4 cups vegetable broth

     1 (10 ounce) package frozen 

     chopped   spinach, thawed and 

     squeezed dry

     Salt and pepper to taste


     Instructions:

     Heat olive oil in a large pot over 

     medium heat.

     Add fenugreek seeds and cook for 

     one minute, until fragrant.

     Add onion and garlic and cook 

     until  softened, about 5 minutes.

     Stir in vegetable broth and bring 

     to a boil.

     Reduce heat to low and simmer  

     for ten  minutes.

     Add spinach and cook until 

      wilted, about 2 minutes.

     Season with salt and pepper to 

     taste. Serve hot.
